Crying in Public
What is the craziest thing you’ve ever seen on subway? For me, it was a man holding a huge parrot in a cage. We all know that it is a right of passage as a New Yorker to absolutely lose it and sob hysterically on the subway. Sometimes our emotions do not give us the privilege of waiting until we’re back in the comfort of our 400 square-foot NYC apartment. Instead we’re resigned to explode amongst all the other chaos. It’s messy and overwhelming and embarrassing, but then later on, after we’ve comforted ourselves with ice cream, TikTok’s, or a vibrator, you can kind of romanticize it all; even the parts that kind of sucked in the moment. That idea is the essence of Sarah Lipe’s debut EP “Crying in Public”
As the recording, engineer and producer on this EP, I am so excited for you all to hear Sarah‘s music. Sarah is constantly surprising me with her wit, authenticity, and audacity. Her lyrics are clever and funny and messy in the best way. You’re all going to love her because of her willingness to write about every side of herself, the good the bad the ugly. Special thanks to Matt Orgel, my wonderful production collaborator, and Bill Hare, for Mastering. Now streaming on all platforms!
